"I want to break out of the breakout room: A fresh approach to learning at the global client forum."
Next April, my team at Hilton is hosting its Global Client Forum, bringing together 100 of our top customers from around the world, alongside Hilton leaders for an immersive experience in networking and learning. But this isn't going to be just another corporate event with traditional breakout sessions. We're shaking things up.
Rather than placing attendees in three standard breakout rooms, we're designing experiences that truly engage and inspire. We've rethought the stale concept and name of “breakout rooms.” We're going with “Learning Labs” instead.
The goal of learning labs? To ensure that everyone leaves with real, actionable knowledge while enjoying a more dynamic and interactive environment that gets people moving, thinking big and connecting.
A new approach to learning
The event will feature three time slots for learning labs. The first two will be led by Hilton facilitators, covering key topics like leadership, sustainability and industry trends. The third session will take participants beyond the meeting room and into immersive, hands-on experiences around the hotel.
Engaging hands-on activations
Attendees will have the opportunity to step out of the traditional setting, and dive into activities that reflect Hilton's core pillars—wellness, fitness, health and culinary excellence. Here's what we've got planned.
Putting Green Challenge - Sharpen your focus, and enjoy some friendly competition.
Mixology Class - Learn the art of crafting a signature cocktail.
Pastry Kitchen Experience - Step behind the scenes, and create something delicious.
Bull & Bear Caesar Salad - A hands-on lesson with a Hilton culinary classic.
Wellness Workshop - Create your own essential oil blend in the hotel spa.
Cool, right?
"We wanted this event to be different. We want to get you up, get your mind going and break up the monotony of a traditional breakout room."
Rethinking the general session experience
Even the general sessions will incorporate a fresh format. Instead of back-to-back presentations that can leave guests pretty drained, the schedule will alternate between sessions and energizing break activities to keep attendees engaged and refreshed. We're rolling out all the stops.
On-the-spot massages(Um, yes please.)
A curated coffee-tasting experience(The caffeine bump will be appreciated, for sure.)
Quiet spaces for calls and reflection(And tbh...just taking a breather.)
By integrating movement, interaction and creativity, we're redefining the way we learn, connect and collaborate at Hilton events. Next year's Global Client Forum isn't just about discussions. It's about experiencing, engaging and truly breaking out.
